How do I book an appointment?
How long are the counselling sessions, and how much do you charge for each session?

Counselling sessions are typically 60 minutes in length: 50 minutes of direct client interaction and 10 minutes designated to ensure your information is recorded accurately and securely.  Sessions are $150 per 1-hour session.

Are your fees covered by private insurance plans?

Many private health insurance plans have coverage for meeting with an MSW/RSW.
Please contact your private health insurance/employee benefits plan to inquire whether there is coverage for counselling provided by a Registered Social Worker (RSW).

Receipts will be provided at the time of payment containing my Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers registration number.  It is the client’s responsibility to submit claims to their own benefit plan.  Alternatively, you may choose to claim the amount as a medical expense for a tax credit.  Unfortunately, OHIP does not currently cover counselling services.

Are there charges for missed or cancelled appointments?

You will be billed the full fee for missed appointments or appointments rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice. There is no charge if appointments are cancelled or rescheduled prior to a 24 hour notice. Please note, if you are sick the morning of the appointment, or there are weather issues, you may wish to have a secure Video Appointment to replace your in-person appointment so you are not charged.

Will my personal information be kept confidential?

Absolutely. All personal information will be stored securely on a password-protected cloud platform. We can not (and will not) provide any of your personal information to any individual or authority without your prior written consent.

Exceptions to this include child protection concerns, concerns of imminent risk of harm to yourself or someone else, or when mandated to provide something under the authority of a subpoena to court. Please see the page on privacy and confidentiality for more information regarding these issues.

We are located in Kingston’s East end in the KOPI building at 800 John Marks Ave, second floor.  We are wheelchair accessible.
